Dexter Ciprian (b. 1984 Boston, MA) is a visual artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. He received a B.S. in Architecture from SUNY Buffalo, and an M.Arch. from Yale School of Architecture. His work lives in the nexus of photography, sculpture and architecture and has taken him to London, Antwerp, Rome, New Delhi and Mexico City. Recent projects include the ongoing photographic series Coins Matter Only as Metal, which was recently exhibited in a two person show with brother and collaborator Felix Ciprian at the Angel Orensanz Foundation; and Excerpts of an Autobiography, which culminated in a self-published book of the same title. Recent awards include a Bronx Council on the Arts Fellowship. He’s also a founding collaborator of the artistic practice Felix & Dexter and has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, and ArtNet Magazine.
